Wichita Ranch in Brenham, Texas has been breeding performance Quarter Horses for the public for more than a decade. The owners of the ranch have endeavored to raise the best horses possible for five generations.

The Wichita Ranch Breeding Program is a combination of past tradition and present expertise - always beginning with mare power and keeping it as the main focus. This is evident in the ranch's stallions and and brood mare band strength.

The ranch believes in constantly striving to upgrade their brood mare band. The brood mares are not necessarily the highest earning mares available, but have the highest producing potential. The experience of raising good horses for years teaches you that the price of a horse is not a guarantee of quality. Instead, a knowledge of good horseflesh and a background of genetic integrity is what is necessary. The ranch's brood mares, numbering about 100 mares, are under constant evaluation.

The stallions owned by the ranch also represent the theory of mare power. Knowing that this theory is not solely believed by Wichita Ranch but by all experienced horsemen, Wichita Ranch feels that this is what creates their share of the performance horse market.
